HISTORY
The IT labs at Department of Civil Engineering at Aalborg University consisted of two laboratories - Media Lab (in building A) and Cad lab (in building B). A tentative list of Aalborg University Labs in the erly 2000 are found at AAU lab.

The Media lab was in 1998 arranged with three PC multimedia workstations with facilities for digital video editing and low cost virtual reality. The Media Lab also housed a video conferencing installation. The Media Lab was used for education, research and external collaboration. The Cad lab was arranged with 2 PC multimedia workstations and 2 SUN workstations and is also used for education, research and external collaboration.

  • 3D-modellering
  • multimedia og visualisering
  • Databaser og videnhåndtering
  • Internetbaserede informations- og kommunikationssystemer

You will find an example of advanced combined use of the video (ISDN) and computer application sharing (Internet) at http://it.civil.auc.dk/it/education/secretary_teacher_1/lecture_5.html.

The former Media Lab is also used as one of the AAU equipped with video conferencing equipment (Polycom HDX 9000, before with V-Tel equipment).

Today we have established a local ICT lab with powerful modelling capacity and virtual building access.
