Proposal for an introductory course in WWW-publishing for secretaries and teachers.

Participants

Secretaries and teachers with basic knowledge on how to use word processors.

The number of paticipants is maximum 8 which requires at least for computers during the exercises. If you have a portable computer it can be connected in the Media Lab.

Course structure

The course will be extended over 6 weeks with 2 hour lecture and exercise each week. The participants will have acccess to consultations in excess of the scheduled leactures.

Location. Time

Lectures and exercises will take place in the IT Building Media Lab in building A, Sohngaardsholmsvej 57 (the video room next to the library).

Lectures takes place between 09.00 - 11.00 at Mondays with a coffee paus at 10.00-10.15.

The remote Lund University lecture will use combined video communication and computer supported collaborative work.

Exercise 1 Basic html. Adjust a ready made html page with your own data. Using templates.

8.2.1999 		Lecture 2 Advanced HTML. Html-editors. Lists, images, anchor, frames.


Exercise 2 Extend your basic html page with images, lists and anchor tags. Create your own 'link box'.
Homework. Study of a few selected web-sites. Follow-up discussion at the next exercise.

15.2.1999 		Lecture 3 Acrobat, PDF formats, plug-ins.


Exercise 3 Netscape html editor. Edit your html page. Open PDF documents.

22.2.1999 		Lecture 4 We continue to work together on your homepages.
(Specifiyng and structuring a web document. Documentation of web documents. Communicating with the students. Sending email to a whole course.)
