Knowledge - Communication, Classification and Representation in the Building Process - K3.

Goal/Purpose:

The K3 project aims at and especially

K3 contains the following main parts:

  1. theoretical support for SWEBU and COOCOM2 (under application)
  2. design and implementation of an exeperimental KBS-Media knowledge node, DELPHI, which also will function as a 'Think Tank'
  3. deepened unerstanding of computer supported collaborative work in the PRACOLL and COLLTRAN activities (see below)
  4. directed fundamental research, anaysis, and mapping within the area
In 2. above the following issues will be specially enlighted:

Relevance:

The project will actively contribute to a necessary attitude change as we adopt the art of communication (succeeding the art of writing and art of printing).

Novelty:

The KBS-Media Lab activities are rather unique in that it encompass: The result of an international evaluation of the Swedish IT-BUILDING Program made in autumn 1994 is presented below


From the evaluation report (with special reference to the KBS-Media Lab projects) "Methods and people-networks should be shared better. While Lund would benefit particularly from these improved links, the others could also learn from Lund's ability to set up "brave new projects" in new and potentially exciting areas".

Results:

Results are continously reported in journal articles, conference contributions and reports. The devloped demonstration systems themselves forms part of the result documentation.
