Virtual Buildings.


Goal:
  • To mediate knowledge about existing and future tools to build and use the Virtual Building model.
  • To give an overall understanding of the building product model develoment in an ICT and historic perspective
Volume/
Placement:
  • This 2 module PE (program unit) course is placed during semester 4 of the Aalborg University open Master of IT education.
Content:
  • History of computer based building process models and systems.
  • Barriers for development.
  • Current ICT computer aided design applications and systems for the
  • construction industry.
  • Time dependent building product models
  • Building model checker tools
  • Middelware for building process applications
  • Modelling and visualization tools.
  • The Virtual building site IT support
  • Properties of the Virtual Building.
  • Conceptual descriptions of Virtual Buildings.
  • Product model classification schemes. (STEP, IFC, EDIFACT, ISO layers, BSAB,..). Process classification.
Examination:
  • The project unit is evaluated through oral examination with external censor. Individual characters according to the 13-scale.
